Teachers “Do walk on water” and on October 26th, Dr. Darko, Christine Murphy and Catherine Uden will donate their time, talent and expertise to Broward county residents and their pets.
Dr. Darko, his staff and rescue organizations from the Animal Wellness Clinic of Tamarac will be available at the event to educate the public and to answer questions and concerns of broward county residents. The Stand-Up For The Pets event will be held on the Middle River at George English Park. The day will begin with paddle board classes and clinics, with tips and demonstrations from Florida’s top paddle board professionals. Paddlers can then join the pack for a 90 minute float down the Middle River, with pet owners, their pets, and all other paddling enthusiasts. This 2.6 mile scenic course will guide paddlers through the canals of Ft. Lauderdale to discover the local ecosystem, and the many beautiful homes along the waterway. Paddlers Unite; come out to raise funds and have fun.
Proceeds of the Stand-Up for the Pets event will be used to cover the direct medical costs of spaying, neutering and inoculating animals in Broward County that are in need of treatment.
Dr. Darko has offered his time and professional expertise to help Broward County pets, and their owners, and at no cost to anyone.
Teacher, triathlete and certified Personal Trainer Christine Murphy brings her love for dance and outdoor sports with her experience in movement, balance, and conditioning principles. She will demonstrate how to yoga on a paddle board, and give a full class of stretching, exercises and yoga poses that participants can practice from their paddle boards in the calm cove at George English Park.
First grade School teacher at Stirling Elementary and Top ranking Stand-up paddle board racer Catherine Uden will give a clinic on race training, advanced paddle boarding techniques and teach aspiring paddle board racers the skills and strategies used by the pros.
